This session will cover the basics of primary music and instil confidence in a subject that can create a lot of fear.

It is recognised that music can help to develop skills, attitudes and attributes that can support learning across the curriculum, as well as being an important and widely valued subject in its own right. Often, we are asked to teach music without having had any music training at all. In fact, our last brush with music education may have been in year 8 or 9 at school!

In this face-to-face session you will be shown how to create your own musical ‘toolkit’ to enhance your school’s current musical provision. In the practical sessions you will learn useful songs and chants, panic-free ways to teach rhythm notation, how to turn any piece of music into a listening activity, practical ideas for assessment and gain the confidence to dust off those xylophones and drums and get your classes playing without the worry of causing utter chaos!

This session is designed for KS1 and KS2 primary music educators, including music leads, trainees and NQTs.

This session will be led by School Support and Development Manager, Zoe Marksford

Kent Music are proud to bring these events to music educators across the county for free! If you book a place please endeavour to attend or let us know if you can no longer make it as this may be preventing another person booking a space. There will be a charge of £15 to schools for non-attendance without 48hours notice.
