Try Out Night at Thanet Music Centre

Ever thought about joining a music group but weren’t sure if it was for you? Now’s your chance to give it a go!

Join us at Thanet Music Centre for our Try Out Night. You can step into a real rehearsal and experience what it’s like to be part of one of our three fantastic groups in this special open session.

• Thanet Voices
  Join Thanet Voices for an evening of singing with expert tutor Edward Greenhalgh. Take part in a full choir warm-up, rehearse exciting music, and pick up plenty of top singing tips along the way. Thanet Voices is for singers of any ability, aged 8-13.
• Prelude Strings
  Experience the joy of playing in a string ensemble with tutors Heather Nunn and Stelios Chatziiosifidis. Open to both young musicians and adults, this is a great opportunity to rehearse a range of music, develop ensemble skills, and gain valuable playing tips in a welcoming setting. Prelude Strings is for string players of any ability, aged 6+.
• Thanet Music Lab
  Experiment, create, and jam in the Lab with tutors Ben Royston, Josh Magill, and Jeremy Lyons. Play your own instrument, try something new, explore music technology, and collaborate as a band in this exciting hands-on session. Thanet Music Lab is for all instruments and singers of any ability, aged 11-18.

If you’re bringing a young musician along, you’re welcome to stay, watch, and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of the Music Centre while they take part. It’s a great chance to see the groups in action and find out more about what we offer.

On arrival, you’ll be met by our lovely Music Centre team who will greet you and direct you to the right place to go. The sessions will begin at 5.30pm. Remember to bring along your own instrument, suitable for the ensemble you wish to try out!

Spare instruments will not be provided, so if you’re attending Prelude Strings or Thanet Music Lab, please bring your own.
