I have worked for Kent Music since 2007 and have experience of teaching in a wide range of settings, working with students of all ages, and with widely differing needs and skills. I have always loved music – listening, playing and organising it - and feel privileged to be able to pass on a love of music to the next generations of learners and musicians.
I have a degree in Music from Durham University and a PGCE in Primary Education from Canterbury Christchurch University. I am a member of the European String Teachers Association and enjoy taking advantage of the training they offer, as I am always keen to discover new ideas and resources, keep my teaching fresh and ultimately be the best teacher I can be. I am adaptable and work hard to cater for the many different learning styles and desires or goals of the students I teach.
My taste in music is eclectic, but my happy place is sitting within a big symphony orchestra. In my spare time, I lead a small community orchestra, play with several orchestras across the county as a section member, and enjoy attending concerts and shows.
