Chris Harrington

I am a passionate and curious instrumental teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching Guitar, Bass, Drums, ukulele and music technology.

I studied music at Southwark College and Goldsmiths University, London which led to me working writing music for clients like the BBC, MTV, and Oxfam among others. I enjoy working in many areas of music whether teaching, composing, music editing, SFX creation or online video courses.

My teaching style consists of a strong focus on student voice. This means lessons are led by students interests and they are encouraged to develop their musicality through playing material they know and enjoy. I believe play is the most important aspect of musical development. I am really interested in discovering how each student learns best so lessons can be accessible to all.

Outside of teaching, I write my music under the name Chris Harrington and North Arch Rising releasing 2 albums in the past year. I also perform jazz regularly and in and around Thanet.
