Join Orchestra ONE this February half term to go Around the World on a four-day creative music project for young musicians of all kinds.
This theme, chosen by previous Orchestra ONE participants, offers endless possibilities for creativity and exploration. From mythical lands to the seaside and music from around the globe, you’ll help shape an original performance inspired by a world of ideas.
What To Expect:
- Work with expert tutors to create brand-new music in a supportive and friendly environment
- Open to all abilities – no auditions or formal training required
- Bring any instrument – including voice or music technology
- Perform with up to 50 other young musicians in a final showcase
Applications are now open
Places are limited so early booking is strongly encouraged to avoid disappointment.
This special project also marks a milestone for Kent Music’s Chief Executive Peter Bolton, who founded Orchestra ONE in 2012. Peter reflects:
To celebrate Peter’s final Orchestra ONE project, we’re bringing back some of the fantastic tutors who have contributed over the years. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a landmark moment!
Who can join Orchestra ONE?
We welcome all musicians aged 11-18 who play any instrument or sing in any genre. Beginners should have at least one school term of experience with their instrument. There are no restrictions on instruments or preferred genres. Vocalists don’t need any prior experience.
Do I need to audition?
No auditions needed! As long as you are the right age and grade level, you are welcome on the course.
What do I need to bring?
Wherever possible, participants will need to bring their own instruments along to the project including amplifiers, leads and instrument stands.
Do let us know if you haven’t got your own supplies – we may be able to help out. Please get in touch by emailing countygroups@kent-music.com if this is the case.
