We’re Making Music Centres More Sustainable – and You Can Help
At Kent Music, we’re working together to reduce our environmental impact. Recently, our Area Managers visited music centres across the county to see how we’re saving energy and resources, following a request from our environment group.
The results are inspiring! Across most centres, lights, equipment, and heating are being switched off when not in use, and many are cutting back on printing and photocopying. Nearly all our centres now use compostable or reusable cups, with the last one making the transition soon!
We also recognise the impact of our choices on the environment and encourage parents and carers to help reduce emissions. Instead of idling car engines, we’re inviting them to relax in our indoor waiting areas. One centre has even created a cosy space with hot drinks, biscuits, and activities for younger children – turning waiting time into a chance to connect or unwind.
Awareness is one of our core organisational values. We believe that by making ethical and informed choices, together we can continue reducing emissions and make our music centres even more sustainable. Every small action counts, and with your help, we can make a big difference.
