I discovered my love for performing music at secondary school, progressing through grade exams and joining every local band I could, including my local Kent Music Centre! I found a passion for teaching music whilst doing my work experience and after graduating with a music degree I immediately started teaching in schools around Kent.
In 2008 my husbands’ work took us to the Middle East and I started teaching woodwind and piano at Dubai College, which was an amazing experience. I stayed there for 12 years, also performing in all the concerts and productions, as well as accompanying at their ABRSM exam centre.
We returned home to the UK in 2020 with 2 children (who are learning violin and trumpet!!) and I was delighted to be able to return to work at Kent Music where my musical education began all those years ago!
When I’m not teaching you may see me playing saxophone around Kent in wind band concerts and I’m a regular member of White Cliffs Wind Band in Dover.
