Gravesham Music Centre (GMC) is an inspiring local hub designed with musicians in mind. Situated in the heart of the community, we offer a diverse range of lessons and ensembles for musicians of all ages, backgrounds, and interests.
At GMC, you’ll find the perfect place to connect with the local music community. We provide access to exceptional music education outside of school hours, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to pursue their musical passions, regardless of the availability of lessons and groups in schools.

Lessons
Learning to play an instrument or sing is incredibly rewarding, giving you a sense of achievement and a lifelong skill. Our passionate and talented teachers are ready to welcome students of all experience levels and backgrounds.

Groups
Joining a local music ensemble like an orchestra, choir, or band can enhance your playing, giving you the opportunity to meet like-minded people, learn new skills, and become a confident musician. Ensembles are always enjoyable, and often there is the opportunity to join in with performances and showcase your talents.

How do I get to the centre?
We’re thrilled to run the Gravesham Music Centre in the new state-of-the-art music block at Mayfield Grammar School. Finding our front door can be a little tricky the first time, so here are some detailed directions:
• Park at Mayfield Grammar School o Address: Pelham Rd, Gravesend DA11 0JE
• Carefully walk through the car park.
• Go round to the left of the main school building.
• Keep the new classroom blocks on your left.
• Carry on towards the back of the school.
• Walk down the pathway to the new Music Block at the far end of the school.
• Enter the double doors.
• Sign in with our lovely receptionist.

Don’t forget to bring your instrument(s) if you play one. We look forward to making music with you!
How much does it cost to join the Centre?
We aim to make Music Centre membership as affordable and accessible as possible for everyone who wants to join the music community.
Once you’re a member you will have access to all groups at our Music Centres. You can join as many as you wish, no matter which centre you initially signed up at and make even more music!
Lessons are an additional charge. However, if you have lessons with us you will receive a 10% discount on your Music Centre membership.

Is financial assistance available?
Our belief is simple: music should be accessible to all. That’s why we offer financial assistance to help you learn and grow. Financial assistance is available for lessons, Music Centre membership, instrument hire, and more.

What if I don’t have my own instrument?
We offer an instrument hire service at affordable rates. You’ll get a discount on your instrument hire if you have lessons with us! This allows students to access high-quality instruments without the need for a significant upfront investment.
